Train ferrying war materials was blown up

The irresponsible and egotistic actions of the TPLF regime, as we warned before, is leading the country into more chaos and turbulence. Actions are being taken by the people, in retaliation to what the TPLF is doing to the peoples of the country. Accordingly, a cargo train transporting military supplies from Djibouti to Finfinnee (Addis Ababa) was blown up in the midnight of May 27, 2000. This incident has happened on the railway line about 10 kms from Dirre Dawa town towards Finfinnee. The mine put out of use the engine of the train and the materials being transported were completely destroyed. The train was targeted selectively to hit at the military effort of the TPLF regime.

The TPLF regime, which is irresponsible and does not have any concern for famine affected peoples, has been transporting war materials from Djibouti while relief food meant to save the lives of millions of peoples is left at the port to rot. On the other hand, the TPLF regime is using Oromo Youth, conscripted to its army as mine sweepers and cannon fodders in the war with Eritrea. These are clear manifestations of TPLF’s policy of genocide against the Oromo people.

The OLF has suggested several alternatives to solve the political conflicts in the empire state of Ethiopia. These attempts and good will by the OLF were all turned down by the TPLF. Therefore the OLF and peoples in Ethiopia have the legitimate right to continue their struggle in all forms and means. The recent actions being taken by the people and the armed struggle being waged by different liberation fronts will have severe human and material consequences. It is TPLF’s regime which is solely responsible for all these unwanted and undesirable consequences.

Victory to the Oromo People!
